IMEC offers a mature Silicon Photonics platform based on a thin (220nm) SOI layer. The platform includes all standard building blocks such as detectors, modulators and different types of fiber-chip couplers. It has 3 silicon patterning steps and 2 metal layers. It is now enhanced with specific building blocks relevant for applications in quantum optics such as polarisation rotators, high extinction ratio filters and dedicated phase modulators.
